Spine-Chilling Cherry Cocktail

Have you been invited to a Halloween party and your face turns ghost-white when you realize you have nothing to bring? Or, do you want to celebrate the holiday at home on your couch, turn off the lights and ignore all the trick-or-treaters making you regret installing that doorbell? Well, we have the solution in this Spine-Chilling Cherry Cocktail to make you forget all the ghouls and goblins running around the neighborhood!

This spooky blood-red drink combines tart cherry juice, vodka, ice, sparkling water, maraschino juice and cherries. It starts off smooth and bites back at the end like a vampire…if you’re into that sort of thing. The critical ingredient in this cocktail is the tart cherry juice that balances out the sweetness of the maraschino cherry juice once it is all mixed together. It is best to use sparking water to add some bubbly fizz to this sickening witches brew.

Pairs well with:

  • Freaky Frankenstein Frankfurters
  • Candy Corn Cupcakes
  • Dead Velvet Cake
  • Boo-scotti
  • Monster Mashed Potatoes

Ingredients….if you dare

  • 2 oz tart cherry juice
  • 1 oz vodka
  • 4 oz sparkling water
  • Large splash of maraschino cherry juice
  • 2-4 maraschino cherries to garnish

Mystery Method

Pour tart cherry juice in a tumbler glass. Next fill the glass with chillingly cold ice and pour in the vodka. Slowly add the sparking water to avoid mixing it with the cherry juice. For the ultimate chilling red blood effect we do not want the liquid to mix at this point. Slowly pour a splash of maraschino cherry juice to the top and it will bleed down into the icy water. Top with maraschino cherries for extra color and texture. Serve cold and mix once ready to drink!
